Grant Application Criteria

We welcome grant applications from projects that meet the following criteria:

  • Located in the island of Ireland
  • Built heritage and designed landscapes
  • Publications relating to the historic environment
  • Conservation rather than restoration or regeneration
  • Employ best conservation practice as outlined in the Venice Charter and Burra Charter
  • Where there is public access or, if on private property, public visibility

We do not accept applications from the following:

  • Public authorities
  • Charities that collect funds for distribution to other charities
  • Organisations or individuals that cannot demonstrate public benifit from what they do
  • Sponsorship or marketing appeals
  • Expeditions or overseas travel projects
  • Projects outside the island of Ireland
  • Applications for revenue costs such as staff salaries and overheads

How to Apply

If you meet the above criteria and would like to apply for a grant we will require information about your organisation and the project you propose. This includes:

  • The purpose of your organisation
  • How it is constituted, administered and funded
  • A description of your proposed project
  • The project costs and timescale
  • How it will be managed
  • What you hope to achieve
  • How the project will be sustained or completed

Application for all grants should be made by clicking below and completing the Grant Application Form. Where additional space is required, supporting information will be accepted provided it follows the sequence and content of the sections specified on the Application Form.

Once the Grant Application Form has been completed a PDF document will be generated for you to sign and post to the trust. We will also require your most recent annual report and audited accounts and evidence of charitable status if applicable.

  • Applicants will be informed of the Trustees’ decision within two months of receipt of application
  • The Trustees’ decision is final. Trustees will not enter into further communication
